Bingo History

July 15th, 2009

Searching for the history of bingo we started from Italy in the 16th century where the high society of that time played bingo at various parties and social events.

The game went across the Atlantic in the early 20th century and took its current name by Edwin Lowe, a toys salesman where he marketed bingo and made it very famous. The «myth» says one player instead of a calling beano which was the name of the game at that time, called bingo and bingo finally got its name.

Then the game was used by the church and other charitable organizations to pool resources, this is probably the reason we connect bingo with old people.

Nowadays the game is growing fast among young people in USA and Great Britain, while more and more online bingo, casino and sports books adding bingo in their product list.

How the game is played?

No matter which type of bingo you play you have to mark the numbers as the bingo caller calls them. When you complete a full house call bingo and the prize will head your way.

If the bingo game your playing  is a charity game the profits will go to the charity organization and a small percentage to the winner.
